Minecraft mansion ideas

A mansion in Minecraft is just a house that thinks big. More rooms, more windows, a fancy front door and a garden you can walk around in. This page has three mansion designs to copy: a small pink one, a modern glass one with a pool, and a huge dark oak manor in the style of the woodland mansion.

Every build comes with pictures, a layer-by-layer blueprint and a list of all the blocks. In GenieCrafter you can type a wish like these in chat and the genie builds its own version in your family's private world. Start with the easy one if you have never built a big house.

Tips for building your own

Start with a big hollow box

Build the walls as one big box, then carve doors and windows out of it. It is much easier than placing wall blocks one by one. Add the floors inside afterwards, one every 4 blocks of height.

Break up flat walls

A long flat wall looks boring. Add corner pillars, a band of a different block between floors, and windows in pairs. Bumping a section out or in by one block makes a wall look much more expensive.

Pick two main colours and one accent

A mansion looks better with just a few block types. White walls, a dark roof and one accent colour such as pink or dark oak is plenty. Too many blocks makes it look messy.

Light every room

Put a lantern in the middle of each room and one by the front door. It stops monsters spawning inside and makes the windows glow at night. Sea lanterns hide well in a modern ceiling.

Make the garden part of the build

Add a path to the door, hedges made of leaf blocks, flower beds and two or three trees. A mansion on bare grass looks unfinished. A fountain or pool gives the front a focus.

Use your survival blocks

Spruce and dark oak planks are cheap in survival, and cobblestone comes from mining. Keep glass for the windows only. A mansion in white concrete needs a lot of sand and gravel, so save it for creative worlds.

Questions

How do you build a Minecraft mansion?

Plan the footprint first, about 20 blocks wide for a big one. Build a hollow box for each floor, add windows and a front door, then put a gable or flat roof on top. Finish with a garden, lights and a few rooms inside.

How do you build a modern mansion in Minecraft?

Use white and gray concrete, flat roofs and lots of glass. Let the top floor stick out over the ground floor. Add black pillars for contrast, a pool in front and a garage on the side.

What is the woodland mansion in Minecraft?

It is a huge dark oak and cobblestone building that generates in dark forests. It is full of rooms and mobs. You can copy its look for your own base with dark oak walls, a cobblestone ground floor and many windows.
